It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arlen Wayne Flippin (Monroe, North Carolina), born in Rural Hall, North Carolina, who passed away on April 28, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, J. W. Flippin and Prudence Flippin; his great grandchildren, Wayne and Belinda; his wife Belinda of Monroe; his children, Cheryl Luther Cantrell (Joe) of Monroe and Daryl Wayne Flippin of Southern Pines; and his sisters, JoAnne Hopkins of Kernersville, NC and Jean Overbay (Jim) of Mt. Airy. He was also cherished by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests making donations to one of Wayne's favorite (and Wayne's research approved!) charities in his honor; The Salvation Army, Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or The Shriner's Hospitals.
