He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Raymond Saavedra and Anne Cruise Saavedra; his grandparents, Winnie Goans and William Harvey Goans of Princeton, WV; and his uncles, Thomas A. Cruise and Levy M. Cruise.

He is survived by: his siblings, Candy Blevins (Charles) and Carl Saavedra; and his nephews, Christopher Blevins and Chad Blevins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alan's memory to The Humane Society of Union County, 4015 Waxhaw Hwy, Monroe, NC 28112.
