McCrae of Pittsboro and Bryan Keith Alston (Sherrice) of Greensboro; his stepson Kevin Dowdy of Moncure; his sisters, Elna A. Smith (Danny) of Topsail Beach, Cynthia A. Suggs of Durham and Annette Alston of Durham; his siblings-in-law, Shirley Davis (Joseph) of Brandywine, MD and Ronell Dowdy of Sanford; his grandchildren, Anthony McCrae of Durham, Deandra McCrae of Chapel Hill, Lauren McCrae of Pittsboro and Sophia Alston of Greensboro; his great grandchildren, Londyn McCrae of Chapel Hill and Channing McCrae of Durham; his niece Kendra Smith of Washington, DC; his nephew Karl Jones Jr. of Raleigh; his uncle Joseph Alston of Durham; his aunt Hazel Mae Alston of Pittsboro; and his stepgrandsons, Demetrius Wilson of Pittsboro, Michael Rowe of Fayetteville and Tony Rowe of Fayetteville. He is also survived by six step-great-grandchildren; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
