She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Seaman Williams and Flonnie Williams; her husbands, Herman John Nettles and Willis Earl Cotten; her children, Herman Marcellus Nettles and Vanessa Nettles (Beverly Nettles) of Pittsboro, NC; her grandchildren, Brandolyn Josey of Morrisville, NC, Crystal Josey Davis (Mantron) of Summerfield, NC, Michael Josey II of Concord, NC and Braxton Nettles; her great grandchildren, Christian of MiKenzie, Mi, Kella and Julian Michael; and her siblings, Cozetta Nettles (William), Carolyn Cotten and Harry Williams. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
