He was predeceased by: his wife Lãm Thị Đào. He is survived by: his children, Linh Huy Đào Cao (Thi Cam Lê) of Advance, NC and Ha Minh Thị Sprinkle (Sean Martin Sprinkle) of Mocksville, NC; his brother Lac Cao of Vietnam; and his grandchildren, Casey, Christine Cao, Joey and Hannah Sprinkle.
