She was predeceased by: her parents, John Ray and Beulah Standifurd Carter; and her husband Jesse Gray Hepler. She is survived by: her sons, Mitchell Gray Hepler, Jared Allen Hepler (Angela), Kevin Carter Hepler (Rena), David Ralph Graley (Johnna) and Andy Atwood (Marsha); her siblings, Jean Myers, Mary Griffith, Ray Carter, Jr. (Judy), Katy Carter, Margaret Walker (Frank), Pamela Curtiss (Ken), Stan Carter (Chris) and Janie Brown; her grandchildren, Jayeann (Matt), Brittany (David), Ashley, Heather, Lil Jared and Mason; and her great grandchildren, Hastings, Haleigh, Brayson, Stella and Anastasia.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Lambert Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Mocksville (635 Wilkesboro St, Mocksville, NC 27028). A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Cornatzer Methodist Church (1244 Cornatzer Rd, Mocksville, NC 27028).
