He was predeceased by : his father Gilbert Ray James; his grandparents, John and Kelly Hudson; and his aunt Helen Beamon. He is survived by : his mother Ruby Nell Hudson James; his children, Jesse James, Robert James, Ronnie James Jr., Joey Lust and Makayla James; and his siblings, Donnie James, John Wood (Linda), Jerry Wood (Karen), Glenda Thompson, Sue Simms and Vickie Lambeth.

Visitation was held on Sunday, June 16th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville (416 Valley Rd, Mocksville, NC 27028).
