He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Wesley "Bud" and Agnes Miller West; his siblings, Walter Miller West of Pino, Lonnie West (Dorothy) of Pino, Luther West (Ostine) of Pino, Virginia Steelman (George) of Yadkinville, Jessie Guentert (Harold) of San Antonio, Elizabeth Fortney (J. L.) of Maryville and Lois Deese (Ray) of Winston-Salem; and his son-in-law Larry Tutterow of Advance.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Etchison West; his children, Frances Tutterow, Roland Henry West, Jr. and Susan Cujas (Al); his grandchildren, Jason Tutterow (Page) of Advance, Elizabeth Tutterow Burchette (Joe) of Advance, Amy Cujas (Ryan Applegate) of Charlotte, Missy Cujas (David Michalski) of Lewisville and Oliver Cujas; his stepgrandchildren, Alexander Spillman and Autumn Alvarez (Peter); his great grandchildren, Reese of Advance, Harper Tutterow of Advance and Joseph Burchette of Advance; and also Mindy Spillman of Yadkinville.
