It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rex Allen Podunavac Sr. (Mocksville, North Carolina), who passed away on March 8, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Nick Podunavac and Reva Watts Podunavac. He is survived by: his grandson Joseph Dudley; his wife Mona Podunavac; his children, Nicole Dudley (Jeff) of Richwood, Amanda Lunceford (James) of Mocksville, Rex Podunavac, Jr. of Mocksville, Bekah Sparks (Tommy) of Mocksville, Esther Shaffer (Nathan) of Theodore and Hannah Morrissey (Ben) of Theodore; and his siblings, Brenda Rollins (Johnny) of West Virginia and Randy Podunavac (Wendy) of Georgia. He is also survived by grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be considered for Trinity Baptist Church bus ministry, 2722 US Hwy 601 South, Mocksville, NC 27028.

“Brother Rex, a patriarch of the Faith he placed in the Lord Jesus Christ, influenced me, my family and all those he came in contact with during his lifetime. A great mentor to me, we would find ourselves often discussing the great truths of the Word of God. We shared teaching opportunities in the Adult Sunday School Class in the original Church building at Trinity Baptist. When we sensed our Preacher having the devil and his demons waging conflict we both knew it was time to fervently pray.”
