It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rachel Thompson of Mocksville, North Carolina, born in Greer, South Carolina, who passed away on November 13, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Grady McAbee and Thelma Louise Whiteside McAbee; her daughter Jean Michelle Thompson; and her siblings, Robert McAbee, Gene McAbee, Nellie Nifong and Esther Strickland.
She is survived by: her children, Rita Smith of Mocksville, Lisa T. Chaffin (Rick) of Lexington, Scott Thompson (Sandra) of Winston Salem and Kelly T. Schwartz of Lexington. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
