She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Moore and Hazel Moore; her husband Dr. Jack E. Shanks; her granddaughter Katie Hood; and her siblings, Dorothy Donnelly and Billy Moore.
She is survived by: her children, Jack Douglas Shanks of Etters, PA and Kim Herman (Todd) of Lima, Ohio; her grandchildren, David Shanks, Rob Shanks (Will Harris) and Kasey Heindel (Dan); her great grandchildren, Madison Shanks, Jackson Shanks, Hailey Drust, Kannan Heindel and Kylar Heindel; and her brother-in-law Jerry Shanks (Susan).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 750 W 13th Street, Newton, NC or NC Junior Hereford Association, 400 David's Chapel Road, Vale, NC 28168.
