He was predeceased by : his parents, Lisha Morrison Carter and Tita Foster Carter Bailey; his children, Sandra Nell Carter Cope and William Ray "Billy" Carter; his granddaughter Kimberly Carter Doby; his great grandchild Hunter Gray Tate; his son-in-law Terry Hardin; and his siblings, Jack Carter, Peggy Rummage and Dorothy Sowers.

He is survived by : his wife Ruby Nell Everhart Carter; his children, Morrison Gray Carter, Jr., Paul Gregory Carter (Tammie), Theresa Ann Carter Hardin and Karen Carter; his daughter-in-law Vanessa Carter; his siblings, Joe Bailey (Judy) and Sallie Buie; his brother-in-law Felix Rummage; and his cousin Mary Ann Barnhardt. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be considered for Fork Baptist Church Cemetery fund, 3140 US Hwy 64 East, Mocksville, NC 27028 or to Medi Home Health and Hospice, 317 S. Talbert Blvd., Lexington, NC 27292.

“Tammy Heaton and Family… I’m so sorry for your loss. From what I’ve heard he was a blessing to everyone that knew him. He was faithful to the Lord and to his church. Now he is at home with Lord.
