She was predeceased by: her mother Lottie Smoot Garrett; and her siblings, Rufus and Dorothy. She is survived by: her daughter Alice; her son-in-law Rev. Andrew W. Brown, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Andrienne Brown and Andrew Brown, III.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the DCTS/CDH Scholarship Fund at the Davie Community Foundation, P. O. Box 546, Mocksville, NC.
