She was predeceased by: her parents, Dove Tillet and Lola Cleo Rice Howard; her husband Ralph Hobert Leonard; and her siblings, Bernice Oakley, Mary Miller, Burley Howard, Rodger Howard and Bonnie Maness.
She is survived by: her children, Michelle Surratt (Brian) of Lexington, Lynn Hopkins of Lexington, Keith Leonard of Mocksville and Wendi Dami-Mendonca (Flavio); her grandchildren, Brandon Ginn (Vianie), Bruce Benson, II (Heather), Kayli Rijnart (Mark), Justin Leonard (Shannon), Corley Winje (Derrick), Walton Surratt (Elaine), Carlyn Surratt, Terran Dami, Chase Leonard, Ruby Dami, Riley Leonard, Hunter Hopkins and Lola Vasquez-Mendonca; and her siblings, Peggy Nelson (Johnny), Daisy Hardy, O'Dell Howard (Judy), Eva Lou Lowder and Karen Phillips. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Eaton Funeral Chapel (325 N Main St, Mocksville, NC 27028). Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Eaton Funeral Service (325 N Main St, Mocksville, NC 27028).
