He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Simpson and Lula Simpson (Wood); his wife Ila Ruth Simpson (Dowell); and his siblings, Troy, Wayne, Harry, Raymond Simpson, Mary Ruth Kimmer and Jo Ann Brooks.
He is survived by: his sister Deborah Whitt of Mocksville; his nieces and nephews, Charlie and Pam Keen; and his pets, Maggie and Brownie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
