He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd E. McBride and Lorene Carpenter McBride; and his stepdaughter Ashley Maxwell. He is survived by: his wife Martha Smith McBride; his stepchildren, Hardy Maxwell of Texas and Jennifer Maxwell of Texas; his stepgrandchildren, Taylor Bowman and Turner Bowman; his stepgreat-granddaughter Lydia Vaught; and his sisters, Patricia Poling of Fuquay-Varina and Sue Fields (Mike) of Currituck. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
