He was predeceased by: his parents, John Doulin and Esther C. Doulin; his son Alexander Hairston; and his siblings, William, John, Adam, Roosevelt, Garfield, Queen and Marion.

He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Arnell Doulin; and his children, Frankie Calhoun, Tim Kinndle, Blair Jones, Cynthia Jordan Mobley, Alethea "Lisa" Scott and Tammy Smith Murphy. He is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
