She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Widener and Helen Widener; and her sister Ginny Lemons. She is survived by: her son Michael Anthony Smith (Betsy); her grandsons, Mikey Smith and Naaman "NaaNaa" Smith; her siblings, Buck Widener and Ellen Francis (Fred); her brother-in-law J. K. Smith (Mary); and her pet Bubbie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
