He was predeceased by: his parents, David Isom "Creed" Fender and Winnie Beatrice Blevins Hanks; and his siblings, Bobby Fender, Lorene Godwin, Earl Fender and Wilma Franklin.
He is survived by: his children, Aaron Fender (Allison) of Mocksville and Leslie Fender of Mocksville; his grandsons, Owen Fender and Cole Fender; and his siblings, Jack Fender of Mocksville and Norma Pickler of Burlington. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
