He is survived by: his former wife Julie Goodrich; his stepchildren, Todd (Sandra Frolich McCaughey) of Ann Arbor, MI and Karen; his wife Bridgitt McCaughey of Grand Blanc, MI.; his grandchildren, Kayla Hackett, Drew (Kassidy Hackett), Evan Hackett of Ryan McCaughey, USN, Erika (Dustin Miller), Lauren McCaughey (Brady Rastia), Sarah Ward, Maria Ward, Anna McCaughey and Gabriel McCaughey; his great grandchildren, Wade Hackett, Georgia Hackett and Kinsley Rastia; his siblings, Mary Kooistra of Valley Center, CA and Robert McCaughey of Ashland, AL.; and also Tony Hackett of Matthews, NC..

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Stephenson & Gaskin Funeral Services (14617 Lawyers Rd, Matthews, NC 28104). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church (11646 Old Monroe Pike, Brooklyn, MI 49230).

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the North Carolina Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund are suggested and would be greatly appreciated.
