It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martin Charles Dokes of Mint Hill, North Carolina, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, who passed away on October 21, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Martin farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Martin is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Melinda Cash (Dokes). He is survived by: his wife Gail; and his children, Rick McClain, Kim Carpenter (McClain), Myron Dokes, Marty Dokes, Patricia Dowdy (Dokes) and Kristie Urich (Dokes).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given in Bud's name either to the Wounded Warrior Project or Atrium Health Hospice and Palliative Care Union County Fund.
