He was predeceased by: his parents, Inez Lynny Stephens and John Leonard Stanley; and his siblings, Betty Frances Vissat, Dorothy L. Gurganous and John Leonard Stanley, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Stephen Stanley, Jr. (Teresa), Robert Wayne Stanley (Maureen) and Teresa Leigh Stanley Hannah. He is also survived by grandchildren, fourteen (14) great-grandchildren, seven (7) nephews and five (5) nieces.
