He was predeceased by: his wife Sharon Dillon Blake; and his parents, Hubert Blake, and Frances Blake, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Marci Bennett, Paige Summey and Susan Seward; his sons-in-law, Mike, Brandon and Tony; his grandchildren, Chris, Rachel, Ryan and Skylar; his siblings, Judy [Ashley] Whitehurst and Jerry [Elizabeta] Blake; and his sister-in-law Susie Fry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to Metrolina Christian Academy, a place dear to his heart. Contributions to organizations that support Vietnam veterans or active-duty Marines are also welcomed, honoring John's lifelong dedication to his fellow servicemen and women — Oorah!
