She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Earl Thurber and Thelma Brown. She is survived by: her sons, Gregory Alan Bates of Jacksonville and Jon Scott Bates (Marla Bates) of Indian Trail; and her brother Donald Thurber (Sally) of Arizona City, Arizona. She is also survived by four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
