It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Marie Wood Owens of Mint Hill, North Carolina, born in Boston, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 21, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Emanuel and Anne Agnes Timmons Wood; and her husband Glenn Marvin Owens. She is survived by: her children, Kathleen M. DuBois (Daniel) of Mint Hill, Theresa Ann Bailey (Donald) of Paisley, FL, Shirley Joan Maggard (Christian) of Port Haywood, VA, Tamara Lee Vass (Kenneth) of Efland, NC, Janet Marie Cox (Robert) of Vale, Robert Owens and William Leonard Owens (Ann Marie) of New Bern, NC; her grandchildren, Kevin, Brian, Stephanie, Nicole, Justin, Christina, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Dereck, Emily Anne, Taylor, Connor, Gibson and Chloe; and her brothers, Robert Wood, Richard Wood, Paul Wood, David Wood and Chester Wood. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
