She was predeceased by: her parents, Murray Theron Hartis and Eleanor Frankie Hartis of Monroe, NC; and her sister Theresa Bowers. She is survived by: her spouse Ira Thomas "Tom" Chapman III; her daughters, Melissa Lickert (David), Carey Laxton and Kristi Knight (Jeremy); her grandchildren, Evan, Emma, Will, Katy, Isla and Jack; her siblings, Marilyn Kisiah, Diane Kindley, Timothy Hartis and David Miller; and her stepdaughters, Cindy Scheele, Rea Maynard, Alison Watford and Bobbie Owens.
