He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade Hampton Poindexter and Ila Stack Poindexter; and his brother Barrett. He is survived by: his wife Colleen Vestal Poindexter; his daughters, Jill James (Darren) of Charlotte, NC. and Betsy Patton of Charlotte, NC.; his grandchildren, Austin, Triston, Caleb, Ali, Jarrett, Colby and Grey; his sister Celeste; his nephews, Barrett and Tony; and his niece Samantha.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested all donations be made to the Levine Senior Center – Matthews in memory of David.
