He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Hargett and Elizabeth Hargett (Dunn); his son Jeff; and his siblings, Frederick, Charlotte, Adelaide, Thomas, Yvonne, Corrine, Pauline, Benjamin and Ronald.
He is survived by: his friend Chuck Hood; his wife Joan Hargett (King); his sons, Mike and Doug Hargett; his grandchildren, Matthew Hilton, Allison, Saban and George Hargett; and his daughters-in-law, Cathy and Sun Mee Hargett. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel (7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227).
