She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Dowdy and Hannah Ruth Bond Dowdy; her husband James Wayne McDowell (Jimmy); and her grandchildren, Charlie Curtis and Kaleb Thomas McDowell.
She is survived by: her children, Sherry Ann Curtis (Michael) of Danville, VA, Jamie McDowell (Lisa) of Ringgold, VA and Jeffrey E. McDowell (Heather) of Danville, VA; her sisters, Betty Young of Cumming, GA and Kathy Nelson of Danville, VA; and her grandchildren, Jacob Nelson, Mackenzie Curtis, Aiden Curtis, Tyler McDowell, Lauren Astin, Morgan McDowell and Bailey McDowell. She is also survived by two great grandchildren.
