It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Rose Lipscomb Thaxton of Milton, North Carolina, born in Halifax, North Carolina, who passed away on January 23, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Algie Lipscomb and Mary Ruth Brandon Lipscomb; her husband Joseph Thaxton Jr.; her son Tony Thaxton; and her siblings, Katie Davis, Beulah Lipscomb, Billy Richmond, Eddie Lipscomb, Algie Lipscomb Jr., Sonny Lipscomb and Abraham Lipscomb.
She is survived by: her daughters, Ethel Thaxton of Milton and Pamara Lea (Joseph) of Milton; her siblings, Martha Hamlett, Sally Robertson of Danville, Virginia, Clara Lipscomb of Blairs, Maggie Vinston of Milton, Charlie Lipscomb, Guy Lipscomb of Philadelphia and Millner Lipscomb (Gladys) of Milton; and her sister-in-law Maude Thaxton of Georgia. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 2 to 7 p. m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time. (Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).
