It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Long Pyles of Milton, North Carolina, who passed away on September 19, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Aldophus Long and Annie Dodson Long; her husband Jessie Pyles; her sons, James Pyles and John Pyles; and her grandson Timothy Pyles.
She is survived by: her children, Margaret Pyles, Janie Pyles Farmer (Ervin) of Danville, Doris Womack (Rufus) of Milton, Judy Miller of Greensboro, Louise Pyles of Danville, Geneva Scott (Harold) of Milton, Darlene Hammond (Rhon) of Winston-Salem and Littleton Pyles (Eva) of Milton; her sisters, Gracie Harris of Blanch, Lillian Allen (Ray) of Brooklyn and Jeraline Manning of San Diego, California; and her daughter-in-law Peggy Pyles of Milton. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 39 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 2 to 8 p. m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time. (Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).
