It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virgil Harold Lance of Mills River, North Carolina, born in Brevard, North Carolina, who passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Lance and Ina Lance; and his siblings, Ernest (Red), Howard, Ralph, Henry, Charles and Lois Mullenax.
He is survived by: his wife Hilda Cairnes Lance; his daughters, Cindy Dalton (Tony) of Brevard and Debbie Melton (Bill) of Asheville; his siblings, Bill Lance (Marlene), Jack Lance (Jan) of Brevard and Linda Owen (Herman) of Brevard; and his grandchildren, Addison Dalton of Charlotte, Adrienne Dalton (Johnny Tan) of Washington, DC and Tyler Melton of Asheville. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, and family friends.
