She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Joseph Erwin Boerman and Wilma Bright Boerman; her husband Gordon Scott McLennan; her daughter Amber McLennan Hix; her son-in-law Joshua R. Hix; her son Taylor Scott McLennan; her grandchildren, Hugh Hudson Hix, Rowan Emery McLennan, Henry Richards Hix and Declan Scott McLennan; her brothers, Joseph E. Boerman, Jr. and Robert W. Boerman; and her mother-in-law Jeanne McLennan. She was also cherished by her brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, and her 18 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lake Hills Church, 370 Lake Drive, Biltmore Lake, NC 28715.
