He was predeceased by: his parents, John Paul Kirk and Shirley Davis Kirk; and his wife Leone Ehlis Kirk. He is survived by: his close friend Sam Wynn; his children, Krista Patterson of Sykesville, MD, Michaela Allen of Annapolis, MD and Michael Kirk of Boone, NC; his grandsons, John Patterson, Julian Patterson, Matt Allen, Ben Allen and John Kirk; and his brothers, Bill Kirk of Kingsport, TN, Dayton Kirk of Topsail, NC and Jerry Kirk of Land.
