He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Warren Brush and Lola Hoffman of Virginia German; his former wife Penelope "Penny" Stevenson; and his sister Mary Brush Stearns. He is survived by: his children, Patricia Brush Thompson (Charlie), Charles (Kathy) and Joseph (Pam); his wife Evie Murray; his grandchildren, Christopher Perando (Jen), Tim Perando, Brian Brush (Laurel), James Brush (Rose), Emilie Drake, Stephen (Allison) and Kannon Drake; his great grandchildren, Alyssa and Austin Perando; his adoptive daughter Rita (Carolyn Walker); his stepchildren, Thomas (Susanna), Alfred (Meltem), Morgan (Dani), Elisabeth (Chris) and Murray; his grandchildren, Lyda, Maddy, Blue, Dylan, Tristan, Aidan and Annie Obertein; and also, Cali Vannoy, Caleb Lyda and Tyshaun Lynch.
Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mr. Brush's memory are asked to consider, Holy Family Episcopal Church and/or to the Katharine Allen Dutcher Scholarship Fund at Blue Ridge College in Flat Rock.
