He was predeceased by: his parents, George Miles and Jeanette Shumate Miles Conner; his brother Terry Miles; and his stepfather Richard Conner. He is survived by: his wife Diane Hollar Miles; his daughter Melissa Miles of Purlear; his stepson Randy "Lucky" Hollar (Brandi) of Clemmons; his siblings, Portia Wyatt of Wilkesboro and Alan Miles (Joann) of North Wilkesboro; his sister-in-law Jeanette Miles of Wilkesboro; and his friend Denise Pierce of North Wilkesboro. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews.

The family has requested no flowers. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9956.
