He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hampton Johnson and Nancy Louellen Reeves Johnson; his son Steven Johnson; his grandson Michael Johnson; and his siblings, George, Andrew, Fred, Henry, Joe, Ben Johnson, Cora Johnson, Louise Woodie Jolly and Mamie Hamby.
He is survived by: his wife Bennie Hamby Johnson; his sons, Gregory Johnson (Galen Johnson) of Millers Creek and Ark; his daughter-in-law Nancy Johnson of Wilkesboro; his grandchildren, Barry Johnson (Melissa) of Traphill, Jonathan Johnson of Wilkesboro and Caroline Johnson of Siloam Springs; and his great grandchildren, Coby Johnson of Boomer, Devin Johnson of Boomer and Macee Johnson of Boomer.
