He was predeceased by: his wife Christine Sheets; his grandson Matthew Dawson; and his siblings, Burl, Don Sheets, Carrie Dancy and Lorraine Baity.
He is survived by: his children, Loretta Sheets Phillips (Perry) of Millers Creek, Deborah Adams (Jack) of Sparta, Edwina Sheets and Andrew Sheets; his grandchildren, Daniel Phillips (Tamika) of Millers Creek and Crystal Dawson of Lenoir; his great grandchildren, James Phillips, Alyssa Phillips and Matthew Phillips; and his sisters, Josephine Luther of Wilbar and Corrine Sheets of Wilbar. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
