He was predeceased by: his parents, David Harley Minton and Lucille Edna Allen Minton; and his sisters, Barbara Spann (Gary) and Linda Butts (Charles). He is survived by: his wife Virginia Kay Phillips Minton; his son Bradley Norman Minton; his grandson Braxton Norman Minton; and his siblings, Nancy Glass (William), Warner Minton (Barbara) of Moravian Falls and Jerry Minton (Debbie) of Millers Creek.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 6510 West NC Hwy 268, Wilkesboro NC 28697.
