He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Willard Smith Sr. and Bertha Mae Helton Smith; and his siblings, Patricia Ann Smith, Barbara Watson, Harold Smith, Carl Smith and Cecil Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Coffey Smith; his children, Ronald Ray Smith (Brenda) of Lenoir and Donna Kay Wyatt (Jerry) of Millers Creek; his siblings, Elaine Eller (Jim) of Hudson and Tim Smith (Luci) of Granite Falls; and also White Oak Baptist Church. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren.
