He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Eugene Hayes and Vertie Watts Hayes; his wife Olivia Church Hayes; and his siblings, Edgar Eugene Hayes, Jr., Thelma Lee Lovette (James) and Alice Marie Durham.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Lee Hayes and Bruce Hamilton Hayes, Jr.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
