She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Walden and Aretta Chloe Byers Church; and her husband Joe Allen Owings. She is survived by: her daughter Anjie Owings Hipple (Chuck) of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Brianna Kay Carpenter (Jaden Thompson), Samuel Josiah Carpenter and Shekinah Glory Carpenter; her great grandchildren, Selah Kay Carpenter Thompson, Evelyn Mazie Carpenter Thompson and Ember Carpenter Thompson; and her sisters, Chris Mitchell (Denny) of Stanley, NC, Suzan Adams (Graham) of Shallotte, NC, Sharon Duncan (Richard) of Hilton Head, SC and Tina Sturgill (Joe) of Moravian Falls.
