It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jay Bennett Gardner of Mill Spring, North Carolina, born in Kane, Illinois, who passed away on February 18, 2022, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Otis Gardner and Ethel Mae Goins Gardner; and his sister Valerie Dale. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Gilmore Gardner; his children, Steven Gardner (Jennifer) of West Chicago, IL, Alicia Nemec (Patrick) of St. Charles, IL and Kim Gardner of Yorkville, IL; his stepchildren, Jeremy Blevins (Cara) of Newark, IL and Amy Zapfel (Jason) of Oswego, IL; his sisters, Terri Annis of Elgin, IL and Phyllis Rudolph (Robert); and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Allen (Dennis Haynes) of Tryon, Kathy Brown (Loren) of Milan, IN and Bella. He is also survived by five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
