She was predeceased by: her parents, Edison Andrew and Florence Lawter Ruff; her husband Donald Fred Gilbert; and her siblings, Glenda Jackson and Herman Ruff.
She is survived by: her sons, Eddy Ruff (Lisa) of Sunny View, NC and Bruce Ruff; her grandchildren, Daniel Ruff, Andrew Ruff, Keith Poteat, Tabitha Beard and Russell Ruff; and her great grandchildren, Katarina, Kaleigha, Cameron and Freya. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, March 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Coopers Gap Baptist Church Cemetery (730 Coopers Gap Rd, Mill Spring, NC 28756).
