She was predeceased by: her parents, Grady Christopher and Agnes Cantrell Newton; and her brothers, Alfred and Homer Newton. She is survived by: her husband Roger Dotson; her children, Wayman Dotson (Leslie) and Cheryl Haynes (William); her siblings, Stanley Newton, Christopher Newton, Reba Hudgins and Jeanette Byrd; her grandchildren, Preston Haynes and Rachael Haynes-Wood; and her great grandchild Jasper Wood.
