He was predeceased by: his mother Mamie Benson Douglas. He is survived by: his wife Rev. Carol Benson; his children, Rebekah Benson, Vincent Polk and Phyllis Benson; his grandchildren, Janeia Benson, Christopher Benson, Bradleigh Benson, Xavier Benson, Candace Benson and Kenyetta Benson; his sister Phyllis Asbury; and his close friends, Kelvin Polk and Horrace Davis.
