She was predeceased by: her father John Helms; her husbands, Ray Carriker and James Hayden Joyner; her siblings, Hubert Helms, Johnny Helms, Melvin Helms and Bland Helms; her grandson James Anderson; and her stepson James "Sonny" Joyner.
She is survived by: her daughter Becky Carriker Demars; her stepdaughters, Joyce Lemmond (Ron) and Doris Williams (Richard); and her grandchildren, Emily Soriano, Rachel Efird, Lindsey Griffin, Heather Postell and Katherine Joyner. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
