He was predeceased by: his parents, A. B. Thompson and Margaret Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Judy Thompson; his children, Kelland, Art Thompson of Wilmington, K. D, Tonya Thompson of Wilmington and Jessica Harrison (Jamie) of Richfield; his stepsons, Jessie (Amy) and Jason Harkey (Sunshine) of Midland; and his sisters, Donna Stegall of Troy and Shirley Threet (Marvin) of Arkansas. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

“My heart aches for the loss of this powerhouse of a man. Uncle Lynn will be missed greatly. He taught us to never let people 'run over' us and stand up for what you believe in. He gave me courage and much of my strength comes from him. I am grateful he was in my life. His laugh was contagious and I hold on to that. He will live on through us.
