He is survived by : his parents, Rondall Bruce Simpson (Ronnie) and Frances Rushing Simpson; his wife Alisa Dianne Simpson; his children, Lauren Nicole Ostwald (Colton) and Jed Anthony Simpson; his stepchildren, Channing Skye Wagner (Josh), Lucille Grayson Mesimer, David Brandon Sykes, Christian Chance Mesimer, Noah Luke Mesimer (Hannah) and Gabriel Thomas Mesimer; his mother-in-law Judy Kerley; his siblings, Cindy Owen (Tony), Gwen Hathcock (Wayne) and Jeremy Simpson (Rebekah); and his grandchildren, River Ostwald, Baby Boy Ostwald, Nathan Wagner and Seth Wagner. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Bright Light Baptist Church (960 Old Charlotte Rd SW, Concord, NC 28027). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
