He was predeceased by: his father Hilton Sanders. He is survived by: his wife Julia "Judy" McIntyre Sanders; his children, Chris McLeod (Lori), Keith Sanders (Nikki) and Kimberly Nicodemus (Gerry); his grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Faith, Jackson, Korah and Khloe; and his siblings, Kent Sanders (Judy), David Sanders, Greg Sanders (Brenda) and Susan Carter (Kim).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
